I thought this was kinda funny... A couple posts down I posted about the cool looking VW bus, and not only did my friend Lorenzo say he shot pics of the same bus, but my other friend Joe sent me a pic of his fiancé in front of it taken last year! And they live in LA, haha. What are the chances!? I think the owner dude must live in his van down there, good times.

Things are a changin'

Hello to my faithful blog readers, or actually I guess it would be blog lookers because there is a lot more to look at than read...at?

Anyway as my title states- Things are a changin'! These past couple weeks my lovely wife Bethany and I have been packing up our apartment in Oceanside (San Diego) for a big move to my little hometown of Hood River, Oregon! We are really excited, even though we are going to miss so much about living in Southern California (especially our family and friends).

But, the good news for our friends and family in San Diego is that our move is not permanent... The plan is to be back in San Diego in January of 2008. Were keeping most of our stuff in storage down here (were actually renting half of the garage from the tenants who are moving in next, haha).

So what the heck are we doing between now and January?? Well, the main reason were moving to Oregon for the summer is because we have a bunch of photo jobs booked in Oregon, mostly weddings and portraits. I'll also be shooting a ton of stock which will be super fun. Were really excited about all of this because were going to be shooting more than ever, and thats what we love to do! Sometimes it feels like it doesn't even matter what we are shooting, as long as the shutter is clicking were happy! :)

And for the super fun part- With all the money were going to save this summer were blowing it all on few months of world traveling! I haven't done much traveling outside of America, Bethany has but it was all pretty long ago with her family, so we are super excited to do some traveling together. Australia and New Zealand are both on the agenda, and possibly Asia (Thailand, India, Nepal) and/or South America. It's all still in the works right now, so we'll see what we actually end up doing. Any suggestions from any of you who have done some traveling would be super helpful and appreciated!

Also a big thanks to our awesome friends who helped with the packing today! Peter, Ryan and Stephanie, Lorenzo and Jen, and of course Mom... you guys rock!

And one last photo... this is Mt. Hood with the Hood River Valley in the foreground, where we'll be living this summer. Yes, it is incredible! Seriously it's one of the most gorgeous areas ever! My plan is to post photos like this as much as possible... so all of our friends from SoCal and beyond will come visit us!

VW Bus

Ever since my brother bought a really cool VW Bus up in Oregon a couple years I've begun to take photos of cool looking buses. I mostly take them just to show him the photos, but I never actually get around to showing him them, haha. Anyway Colin here is the bus I was talking about the other day when you called.

Cozumel Underwater

Here are a few more randoms from Cozumel. Playing around in the crystal clear water with my underwater housing was a blast!

This was at the port in Cozumel Mexico last month. We had just gotten off the cruise ship on the right and I looked up and saw this. Pretty crazy how HUUUUGE those things are!
That day in Cozumel goes down in our book as one of the top 3 most enjoyable days ever! Maybe I'll find some more photos and put them up soon...

moonrise and campfire, Alabama Hills, CA

One of my favorite places in all of America is the Alabama Hills in Owens Valley, California. When I get a chance to drive through there and camp its always an incredible experience.

This photo was taken 1 year and 5 days ago. The moon was rising above the hills and the light hadn't quite reached our camping spot yet. Bethany had already gone to sleep in the tent, but of course I was up at 3AM shooting.

I took this photo just to have a nice memory snapshot, but it actually turned out pretty well and didn't notice it until just now.

Fort Lauderdale Skimboarding

A couple weeks ago in Fort Lauderdale Bethany and I were chillin on the beach and there was a whole crew of kids going crazy on their skimboards. Apparently it's pretty huge over there because the waves aren't big enough to surf. After watching them for a while I picked 2 kids out (the others weren't all that good) that I wanted to shoot just doing their thing. When I asked them if they're cool with me going in the water and taking photos of them they kinda freaked, but in a good way. They treated me like a photo god from California, pretty funny.

Wahclella Falls
