Fort Lauderdale Skimboarding
A couple weeks ago in Fort Lauderdale Bethany and I were chillin on the beach and there was a whole crew of kids going crazy on their skimboards. Apparently it's pretty huge over there because the waves aren't big enough to surf. After watching them for a while I picked 2 kids out (the others weren't all that good) that I wanted to shoot just doing their thing. When I asked them if they're cool with me going in the water and taking photos of them they kinda freaked, but in a good way. They treated me like a photo god from California, pretty funny.
Here are a few of the better shots, I still haven't had a chance to edit though all of them!

Nice pictures! I've been reading your blog for a while. Keep up the good work. What equipment do you use with these kind of shots involving water? Uderwater housing? I've been planning to go shooting local kitesurfers, but going to water with 5D freaks me out a bit.

Amazing action captures. I really like the first one.
Hey Joel,
Thanks for the comments, cool that your enjoying the blog!
I use a sweet custom designed underwater housing by Erik at Del Mar Camera housings, check it out at http://www.delmarhousings.com/
The housing is for my Canon 5d. It was a bit freaky bringing it in the water at first but it's all insured so that provides a bit of peace of mind.
I'm gonna try shooting some kiteboarders up in Oregon this summer, should be fun!
Do you have a blog or website that I can check out with your pics??
Nice Shots Blaine!!!! See you in June for my Brothers Wedding...
