Jurassic Park!!

We are in Kauai now for our second week of the honeymoon! Its so beautiful here!

We were driving along on Monday and I saw this amazing huge ranch, so we stopped and started taking pictures. Then this dude pulls up and was like "You know what this is right?" I replied "Hmm, a big ranch I guess." He's like "Yep, all three Jurassic Park movies were filmed here and a bunch of others too." I thought it looked strangely familiar! The ranch took on a whole new meaning then. I started seeing all these spots that I remember from the original Jurassic Park movie. Never saw the second and third but I heard they were lame anyway.

honeymoon

Bethany and I get to spend 2 weeks in Hawaii for our honeymoon! So far it's been awesome! Were renting a car for the next couple days, so we finally get to explore the island. Should be fun! Here is a few random photos from our trip so far.

the best day of my life

No kidding, June 18 2005 was the best day of my life. Our wedding was so perfect, everything was so blessed by the Lord it was amazing. The setting for the ceremony was so beautiful, and the reception was a blast!! Thanks to everyone who helped out and gave their time and effort! We love you!

I cannot even begin to describe the wedding with words, and much less typing, so I'm just going to share a few of my snapshots from the day. Can't wait to see our "real" wedding photos by our good friends and most excellent wedding photographers Tricia and Andrew of Vision Photography.

last night as a single man

June 17, 2005- My last night as a single man and my buddies decided they needed to make it a night to remember. After the rehearsal dinner for the wedding, we were all staying in a house at the Ranch we were having the wedding at. As I walked into the house to go to bed, they guys grabbed me and proceeded to wrap me up in a really long climbing rope.

Then they threw me in the back of a pickup truck and we drove out to the middle of nowhere on the ranch. As they enjoyed their beers and cigars, I just laid there thinking about how much I wanted to be in a nice warm bed.

To make a long story short, I ended up in a porta-potty in the middle of nowhere. They blocked the door of the porta-potty and drove off with hopes of finding a sharpie marker.

During the 10 minutes they were gone, I managed to untie myself and escape from the porta-potty. Hehe! My plan was to jump in the truck when they returned and speed off so they had to walk back, but it didn't work out that way. They ended up spotting me and chasing me down. My white shirt with a full moon night gave me away! At this point they wrote secret messages to Bethany (for the wedding night) all over my chest and back with the sharpie.

You guys better watch your back!

check this out!

I was driving around this cool neighborhood in San Diego this evening when I spotted this...

Yes, that is a guy walking SIX dogs. I'm pretty sure they are all his too, because they are all the same kind of dog, and he just looks like the type of guy who would actually have six of the same type of dogs.

That's totally gonna be me one day, but my dogs will be rottweilers, greyhounds, boxers, and maybe even a pit-bull or two...

another shoot, but assisting this time

Another photo shoot today, but I was assisting this time. Lawrence Anderson is the photographer, and man he is good! He knows his stuff so well, and it really paid off because the images came out perfect. He was shooting for a large construction company that built a brand new building for Fidelity Investments.

Photoshoot

Last night was fun. I did a photoshoot for Risen Magazine of the hip hop artist known as Common. His sold-out show was at the House of Blues downtown San Diego. You should have seen all the people.

-Some of the crowd-

They gave me about 15 minutes before the show to shoot some portraits of him before his set started. I am pretty happy with the shots I got, especially because I don't usually shoot people, much less famous people! He was a super nice guy though, and he liked the photos I showed him on the back of the camera.

-One of my favorite shots-

After I did the portrait shoot, he was on stage. It was sweet cuz they gave me a "photo pass" so I could go just about anywhere and shoot.
