attention all brookies

Check this out-
Brooks Institute Ordered to Pay Restitution to Students

Not too sure what to think about this....

if I could be any animal, I'd be a big hairy spider...

Spiders are no doubt the coolest creatures ever! When you see them up close at night (when they're active), it's amazing. They're incredibly smart and full of energy. If you ever get a chance, grab a flashlight and head outside late at night. On the west coast, especially in Southern California, you'll probably see lots of black widows. Here in Michigan (where I am now) there are tons of these big fat brown spiders. There is this tree in the backyard that seems totally empty during the daytime, but at night it's crawling with THOUSANDS of spiders!
A couple nights ago I started taking photos at 10PM and finished at the 5AM sunrise. It was a blast. I got some pretty cool pictures but I'm not totally satisfied so I might do it again tonight! Here are some of the photos.

the mullet documentary project

For the past few years, I have been documenting mullets with my little Canon camera that I call "digimon". I have tons of sweet mullet shots that I need to organize and put into a show. It's going to be hilarious when I finish it. If you don't know what a mullet is, google search "mullet" and you'll find hundreds of websites on them.

Anyway, here is a sweet mullet I hunted the other day in Michigan.

in hawaii again!

I'm in Hawaii again (July 10-17) assisting on a photoshoot. We've been working really long hours, so I apologize to everyone that I have been so out of touch recently! I also don't have internet here, so sorry I haven't been responding to emails and stuff. Life has been going full speed ahead for a long time now and I can't wait for a break! Anyway, here are a few snapshots from the past few days.

best 4th of July show ever!

Forget fireworks, this 4th of July I witnessed the best show I have ever seen. Bethany and I were driving across the country and we were somewhere in Colorado near Nebraska. This dark cloud started forming and we thought it was cool, but we had no idea what was coming. We pulled off the freeway and explored a bit on some small rural roads when the clouds started turning super gnarly! Of course we started shooting it like crazy and for a while we couldn't shoot because it was raining so hard and the lightning was striking everything all around us! It was sooo awesome! When it was all finished, we couldn't believe what we had just seen. Absolutely amazing. It made me want to pack up and move to the midwest, just for the weather! I'd probably kill myself chasing all the storms trying to get the perfect photo...

Here's a few of the photos, I got some video too so maybe I will post that up someday.

road trip!

Bethany and I just finished a fun drive from LA to Michigan! We drove straight through without stopping too much because we are having another wedding reception in Michigan this Saturday, good times!

We did the 2,400 mile trip in 3 days. Somewhere in the middle of nowhere Colorado we saw the MOST AMAZING weather storm ever!!! It was such a testimony to the power of our Creator. I am going to round up some photos and post them soon. You’re going to be amazed when you see these pictures!

big toads!

Bethany and I were driving back from the beautiful Na Pali coast last night when were spotted all these big toads on the road. They seem so dumb because they just sit on the road and watch the cars pass by without even moving. Every once in a while you'll see a flattened one, but I did a good job of dodging them so they could live their happy little life. Anyway, Bethany had the idea to get a photo of a toad on the road with the car headlights coming. Fifty mosquito bites and an hour later, this is the shot we came up with.
