Baron is a star

This is Baron, my Aunt and Uncles family boxer dog. He's so fun to take pictures of, I have thousands of great photos of him.

I just got an email from UpperCut Images saying they recently licensed these two images of him.

The first picture is going to be in Womans Day magazine, possibly in July. I never read that magazine, so keep an eye out for it, women.

The second picture will be displayed at trade show in Atlanta for a carpet protection company. I think it's perfect because Baron has that guilty look on his face like he peed all over the bed. Haha.

lazy day at the beach

God has quite the imagination

I caught this little fish today and took some pictures of it. I called it a needlefish because the long pointy nose. It has so much character for a fish that is only 2 inches long.

30 minute exposure with Canon 5d

Last night was so warm here in Florida and the sky was clear, so I went out to the dock and watched the stars. I wanted to try out my new cable release so I just set the 5d on the ground with a 15mm fisheye lens and got this shot. Its not an amazing photo, but I was just excited that the 5d is capable of a 30 minute exposure without minimal noise. But there is still 2 problems... The in-camera noise reduction takes another 30 minutes so the total time is 1 hour, and after one hour the battery was just about dead. Digital is really close to being great for really long exposures, but I still think film is the way to go for exposures longer than 10 minutes. Ok enough with my photo nerdness....

fishing in florida

Today I had a chance to shoot a bit... it was fun. Right after sunset all these guys started fishing for shrimp and baitfish. They use those lanterns to attract small fish, and then the big fish come and eat the small fish. I took lots of photos, but I only have time to post this one. I'll try and post more later!

new fisheye lens

I bought a new fisheye lens the other the other day, so I've been playing around with it a little bit.

This is the official first photo with the lens (the view laying on my living room couch).


This is the official second photo with the lens. A high speed Amtrak train passing by at 70 mph. It's quite an experience when your that close. I don't recommend trying it.
