playing around in the woods...
A couple days ago the photo above was licensed by my stock agency, UpperCut Images. It will be in an annual report for a financial company. Stock photography is one of the greatest things... let me explain. I took that photo over 6 years ago! I lived in Oregon with my parents at the time, and one of my favorite things to do back then was go up to the woods by our house and rally around in my trusty 1984 4x4 Subaru. I always took my dog Bruno, who is and always will be the best dog on the face of the earth, period. So Bruno, my Subaru, and I were just out messing around in the woods one day when I took this pic. Now it's making me some money. I love the concept of stock photography.
So anyway, all you photographers out there reading this, I highly recommend you get your images into a stock agency asap. I put it off for 5 years and I'm so glad now that they are finally up and selling. Let me know if I can help you out and answer any questions you have about stock photography, I'd be glad to help out!
Just for the fun of it, the first pic below is my Subaru on the day I sold it (sad face) for a whopping $100! The second pic is my buddy Bruno.

Hello Blaine,
I have been following your blog for a while and just love your work. I used to shoot travel/fine art stuff and recently (past few years) have transitioned into weddings. I am very interested in learning about stock photography as a supplement to the weddings. I have all these great shots just sitting there! Besides, it looks like TONS of fun. My email is: willcoxphoto@gmail.com (blog: www.xanga.com/aaronfriend) I'd love to chat about how to get started and any tips you might have.
Thanks
-Aaron
