batman, robin, and the joker
I haven't posted in a while because I've been super busy and haven't had many chances to shoot recently. So I thought I'd post something really old that I shot for a school assignment a few years ago.
The assignment was to create a small set in the studio and shoot it so it looks lifesize. I've never been much of a studio photographer, so coming up with a good idea was really difficult for me. I was rummaging through a thrift store in Santa Barbara when I found these three figurines from Batman and had the weird idea to photograph them roasting marshmallows over a fire in a forest of flower trees. And of course stars in the background. The stars were projected onto a screen from a slide I had already taken. Everything else was actually real.
It was shot on film with a 4x5 camera (the huge style "Ansel Adams" camera that you have to hide under a black cloth to see in). It turned out kinda cool and it's just fun to look back at my old stuff and see how much things have changed since then.
