First Day in Beijing, China
The smog here is the worst I've seen anywhere!
The airport is SOO huge. You can actually see the atmosphere and smog inside the building!
Sweet hair!
There are Olympic countdown signs everywhere
Tienanmen Square
Easy access!
How bout that photographer pose?

I am glad that you got to see the brand new Terminal 3 at Beijing. I only got to see the smog-obscured outside on my way home. BTW, try not to wait for a personal invitation to board that plane. I hope that you guys got a chance to tour the Forbidden City, as you were so close to it. And try to find a meal of Peking Duck too. Love, Michigan Dad
i am a friend of chad cheverier's led to your site some time ago when you first started your adventures. i think it's completely admirable the way you guys are living life right now and i look forward to each post.
thanks for seizing moments.
Believe it or not exactly all smog. But it's so much worse for your lungs.
April is the worst time of year in Northern China because sandstorms bringing in dust from the Gobi Desert (2 hours north) clouds the area. Deforestation has made it worse. Beijing is nestled in between mountains which keeps that stuff there well into end of May. You won't see sunshine til June. This is actually the process of slow desertification, death by dust :-)
not only is that photographers stance awesome but so are the expressions on the people he's photographing face.
The kid's butt cheeks... comedy Gold!!! Maybe even Platinum!!!! wow!!!
cool shots of Terminal 3. There is a great article in last week's new yorker magazine about that airport. Might be interesting to you after being there.
