Everyone says they are the best though.
Our kayak guide works for Handspan too though, and he said we do all the same stuff, for half the price, haha.

It's funny you'd comment here because just yesterday you came up in a conversation here in Cambodia. I met a photographer from SLC and I mentioned your name, he said he has heard of you! At least they called it Monkey Island and there were a bunch of pissed off monkeys on it. One stole my camera bag and my guide had to chase after him with a stick.

Did you kayak with HandSpan Tours?

JPJP Jespersenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08436608584173049030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12930627.post-15409269419011700862008-01-20T10:48:00.000-08:002008-01-20T10:48:00.000-08:00BlaineThanks for the response! I really appreciate it knowing how active you both are there.

It's interesting to hear your approach. 200GB of RAW images from 400 shot!! serious work.

So you're 100% RAW for the trip and very well organised too. The images look excellent. I'm impressed.

I've never taken fully to RAW myself, although I've made time to check it all out and experiment to see what suits me best in the long run. I was interested in your working method.

If you're going to spend "a lot more time on the good ones" you'll be very busy! Excellent shots.

Best regards to you both,

SamAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12930627.post-1838824951795541322008-01-19T18:16:00.000-08:002008-01-19T18:16:00.000-08:00Sam, We always shoot RAW with no exceptions. On th...Sam,
We always shoot RAW with no exceptions. On this trip, were shooting only RAW with no JPEG at all, there isn't any need for it. Only time we shoot JPEG as well is for weddings, when we want to do a slideshow at the reception.

Of course the RAW images are filling our hard drives up like crazy, but we planned for it. We have 4 250GB Western Digital Passport drives, which are really small and light. So far so good. We have the images duped on 2 drives at all times. One stays with the luggage in the hotel, and one stays on us. If everything was stolen from us it's all replaceable (thanks to insurance) except for the images....

One thing that helps too is editing while were shooting by deleting dupe images in the camera, and also editing at the end of the day, or the end of the week, etc. This had cut down about half of the amount of images were storing.

Right now I think were at about 200gb of RAW images, cut down from about 400 or so. :)

For the photos on my blog, I spend about 15 seconds of processing on each one, so it's pretty rough. When I get back home on the G5, I'll spend a lot more time on the good ones!blainehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12982096442057588348noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12930627.post-53399303270859817072008-01-19T14:47:00.000-08:002008-01-19T14:47:00.000-08:00Your not in Kansas Dorothy! How much time do you spend processing? If I was lucky enough to be able to do what you're doing I'd be shooting JPEG for minimal processing and using RAW when I thought it might be helpful.

Great images, great vision!

Don't worry if you're too busy to comment. Have a great time!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
